Communicating The Unstereotype: Are Subways More Like Pots or Dishes?

June 13th, 2013 | Categories: Uncategorized

Subways are like melting pots AND petri dishes.

Just check out this link to, “Can You Guess What These NYC Subway Riders Are Reading?” Subway riders communicate unstereotypes in these pictures and that’s why it’s funny. You think they will be reading a certain type of book because of a stereotype you have of them and then they may or may not be after all.

So a subway is a melting pot where the immense diversity of all types of people intermingle AND a petri dish for folks like the article’s author, Summer Anne Burton, to examine human behavior. Thanks Summer for helping subway riders communicate an unstereotype and demonstrating that you can’t judge a book by what it’s reader looks like.
