Announcing My Webinar On Communicated Stereotypes

April 1st, 2013 | Categories: Uncategorized

Anastacia Kurylo, Ph.D. will present a webinar for the National Diversity Council based on one of her blogs previously posted on The Communicated Stereotype. The webinar will take place THIS Tuesday, April 2nd at 12pm EST. Advance registration is required and there is a fee.

The mission of the NDC is to be both a resource and an advocate for the value of diversity and inclusion. The NDC serves as the umbrella organization to support our statewide and regional affiliates, which foster an understanding of diversity and inclusion as a dynamic strategy for business success and community well-being through various initiatives.

Here is a brief description of the presentation.

Diversity and inclusion initiatives fall flat when CEO’s, VP’s and Directors do not appreciate their value. Oftentimes, these initiatives begin with the premise that companies should engage in diversity and inclusion strategies to be successful, to thrive, and to maintain a competitive edge. Unfortunately, in many organizations buy in needs to take place earlier than this assumption as constituents wonder why they “should” invest in diversity and inclusion at all. This research-based presentation will enumerate the strategic rationale behind exactly why stereotypes thwart inclusion and ultimately hurt business. This webinar will equip the listener to talk diversity while speaking the language of brand reputation, sales, and customer relations. Being able to articulate exactly why stereotypes are bad for business will strengthen the ability for diversity council members to foster intrinsic investment in diversity and inclusion initiatives.
